Scenic art objects ONDA ” Chertanovo. Structural landscape” and ” Janitor. Structural portrait “participate in the exhibition “space Exploration”. It was held from 02.07. to 23.08.2020 in the gallery “Khodynka” (Exhibition halls in Moscow).

The exhibition is dedicated to the experience of self-isolation, which this year faced a huge number of people around the world.

In some works of the series “Structures and spaces”, the theme of perception of the everyday environment is raised. During self-isolation, we were essentially locked in this environment – the yard, trees, neighboring houses and Windows in them, neighbors, janitors – the same persons. Usually all of this eludes the perception seems to be already known and familiar. And business constantly distracts from idle contemplation. And now I had to contemplate. There was simply no other choice. And it turned out that the simple appearance of the yard is much more complex and subtle than it usually seems, and some of the neighbors can easily write a novel or at least a story.

Here, in fact, is the whole idea – we trust our vision and experience too much, we like to simplify, denote and pretend that we understand everything, we really notice too little. The reality that we are so adept at handling becomes quite clear, at least explicable. But at the same time, the sense of mystery and unknowability of seemingly simple things gradually disappears – the feeling of living particles that permeate everything from a stone or a blade of grass to clouds and star nebulae. This is a very important feeling which in no event it is impossible to lose. It is based on both awareness of one’s own place in reality and a sensitive, empathic attitude to it.

For me, self-isolation is, first of all, a view from the balcony to the corner of the yard overgrown with trees. This view lets you feel how small the part of the world you can view is. Both “Chertanovo” and “Dvornik” are about the same thing.

  1. I do consider all the ideas you’ve introduced on your post.
They’re very convincing and can certainly work.
Nonetheless, the posts are very brief for newbies. May just
you please extend them a little from next time?
    Thanks for the post.
